This comparison is based on specifications and policies published by Chirofoam and Saatva. We have not run in-house sleep tests on these models.

Chirofoam and Saatva both court shoppers who care about spinal alignment. Chirofoam says its mattresses were designed with a team of chiropractors, and Saatva says its flagship Classic is endorsed by the American Chiropractic Association. From there the two brands split sharply. Chirofoam is a Toronto maker of firm and extra-firm foam and hybrid beds shipped in a box. Saatva Classic is a coil-on-coil innerspring with a Euro pillow top, delivered and set up by a white-glove crew.

So the real question is not which brand is better, but which kind of bed suits your body, your budget and where you live. Here is how they compare, using each brand’s published specs and policies.

Specs and prices checked September 2026. Chirofoam prices are in Canadian dollars and Saatva prices in U.S. dollars. Firmness numbers come from each brand’s own scale, so compare them as a guide rather than a lab measurement.

Firmness: firm versus firmer

Chart of brand-rated firmness on a 1 to 10 scale: Saatva Classic Plush Soft 3, Luxury Firm 5 to 7, Firm 8; Chirofoam Original 7.5 and XF 9.5

This is where the two brands overlap most, and where the difference matters most for stomach sleepers. Saatva’s firmest option, Firm, rates 8/10 on Saatva’s scale and is described as lying on top of the mattress rather than sinking in. Chirofoam’s XF and Hybrid XF go further, at 9.5/10 Extra Firm on Chirofoam’s scale. If you have tried “firm” beds and still felt your hips sag, Chirofoam’s extra-firm models are the firmer choice of the two.

In the middle, the picture reverses. Saatva’s Luxury Firm (5–7/10) is Saatva’s middle option, a balance of cushioning and support designed to replicate a luxury hotel bed. Chirofoam’s Original and Hybrid are also called Luxury Firm but sit higher, at 7.5/10. Only Saatva offers a truly soft option: Plush Soft (3/10) for side sleepers and lighter bodies.

Construction and feel

Chirofoam builds with dense foam. The XF, for example, layers 1 inch of cool gel-infused memory foam over 2 inches of extra-firm support foam, a lumbar support layer and a 7-inch high-density core. The feel is stable and quiet, with little motion transfer on the all-foam models. The hybrids add pocketed coils for extra bounce and airflow. Not sure which Chirofoam build to pick? Saatva Classic uses a dual-coil design with more than 1,000 recycled steel coils in full size and up, topped by a 3-inch Euro pillow top and an organic-cotton-blend cover. Saatva says its Lumbar Zone technology supports healthy spinal alignment in any sleep position. Expect the springy, breathable feel of a traditional innerspring, which many people associate with hotel beds.

Price and value

Price is the clearest gap. In queen, Chirofoam lists the Hybrid XF at 999 CAD, the XF and Hybrid at 1,199 CAD and the Original at 1,399 CAD. Saatva lists the Classic queen at $2,229 USD, and it was on sale for $1,904 when we checked. Because a Canadian dollar is worth less than a U.S. dollar, Chirofoam’s most expensive queen costs well under Saatva’s sale price.

Saatva’s premium buys choice and service: three comfort levels, two heights, white-glove delivery and a lifetime warranty. Chirofoam’s lower price buys a focused firm bed with a 15-year warranty. Which is better value depends on whether you need those extras. For a full value breakdown, see Is Chirofoam worth it?

Trial, warranty and delivery

Saatva gives you up to 365 nights to decide, with no minimum trial period. If you return the mattress, Saatva charges a $99 processing fee for the pickup and donates returned mattresses rather than reselling them (trial terms). Its Friends for Life warranty replaces the mattress free in years one and two, then repairs and re-covers it for a $149 processing fee, and it is valid for the original purchaser in the continental U.S. (warranty terms).

Chirofoam advertises a 100-night sleep trial and a 15-year warranty against defects in materials and craftsmanship. Its separate return-policy page lists stricter terms, however: returns within 14 days of delivery for unopened mattresses, with return shipping paid by the customer. Confirm the trial terms with Chirofoam in writing before you order.

Delivery is a matter of taste. Chirofoam arrives compressed in a box, free across Canada and to the lower 48 states. Saatva sends a crew to deliver and set up the mattress in your room at no charge.

Canadian shoppers: an important difference

Chirofoam is made in Toronto and ships free across Canada, with prices listed in Canadian dollars. Saatva’s warranty is written for original purchasers in the continental U.S., and its site lists prices in U.S. dollars. If you live in Canada, Chirofoam is the simpler purchase. U.S. shoppers can choose freely between the two.

The verdict

Chirofoam is the pick for firm-bed purists: the firmest options of the two, chiropractor-informed design, Canadian manufacturing and a far lower price. Saatva Classic is the pick for shoppers who want the luxury-hotel experience: coil-on-coil bounce, three comfort levels, a year-long trial, white-glove setup and a lifetime warranty. Both are strong choices for people who put spinal support first.
